In case you were wondering, the klezmer scene is alive and well here in Seatown.  3-3-2 3-3-2 all night long. Lots of folks out at Conor Byrne last night, kickin up their heels (literally), arm in arm, to the honk and skronk of clarinet, trombone, accordian and upright bass.  This is the honkfest crowd, a subculture that’s thriving. Betcha lots of these musicians were in band in highschool. And if klezmer and its various ethnic cousins are yr thing, it’s all over this town, a welcoming crowd. Before ya know it, you’ll be in a dance line of some variety, bouncing around the club. Hats required, if yr in the band that is.
