image_2040706 Enjoyed Amnesia so much returned for a second night and caught The Parson Red Heads, well three of them at least (no drums or bass).  They doled out sunny sappy songs with skill. Always a sucker for those 3 part harmonies.  Bet they sound great with drums and bass. Yep, some good tunes for sure that hit the spot when seeking infectious indie pop. Although gotta say that the lyrics sometimes tipped the scales on the earnest meter. What can ya do.

Check these tracks to get a sense of their goodness:

Punctual As Usual

Punctual As Usual

Such a catchy lick. And the hand claps are choice! Pete Townsend would approve methinks.

Out To Sea

Out To Sea

Okay, so they have a penchant for those Beatles trilly melodies. But forgive them. Despite that, this is solid!

Word is they are moving back to Portland after a stint in LA. They’ve got some upcoming shows in Seattle. One’s on November 2nd at Neumos and then another November 15th at the High Dive. Worth checking out if yr a fan of “tender folk rock” as put by Eric Anderson of Cataldo. Or even better, a fan of CSN-like indie rock sunny pop sugar. I am.
